What this is

Question sets by role, a plain-English summary of the employer-facing parts of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and a checklist. It is aimed at small hiring teams who do not have an in-house employment lawyer on call.

What this is not

• Not a background check service. We run no checks and sell no reports.
• Not a consumer reporting agency. Nothing here assembles information about any individual.
• Not legal advice. Employment screening law varies by state and city and changes often. Confirm anything consequential with counsel licensed where you hire.

Data

We hold no personal data about candidates, because we never receive any. See privacy.
